How MowFree makes money

MowFree is free to read and takes no turf orders or install bookings. The site earns a commission when a reader buys turf materials through one of our outbound links, at no extra cost to the reader. As of July 2026 that is the site's only income: no sponsored posts, no paid placements, no lead fees from installers, and no money from anyone whose product or price appears on a cost page.

Amazon Associates

As an Amazon Associate, MowFree earns from qualifying purchases.

MowFree participates in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program that lets sites earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon. When a page recommends a product like turf rolls, infill, or seam tape, the Amazon link carriesrel="nofollow sponsored noopener" and the tracking tag is visible in the URL. We earn only if you buy, and you pay the same price either way.

One thing to be clear about: those links are searches, not product recommendations. Each one runs an Amazon search for the spec described on the card. We have not bought, installed, or tested the products it returns, and we don't rank them. Read them as "here's what to shop for," and read the reviews on Amazon before buying.

Read this part skeptically

A commission is an incentive, and the honest thing is to tell you where it sits rather than promise it has no effect. It sits on the material links, which means we have a reason to put a materials list on a page. Weigh those lists knowing that.

What it does not sit on is the pricing. The cost ranges on this site come from the sources cited at the bottom of each page, published cost indices and supplier pricing, checked as of July 2026 and dated there so you can see how old they are. Those sources pay us nothing, and a higher published range would not earn us a cent more, because we take no cut of an install. Where a figure and a product link disagree, trust the cited figure and tell us about the gap.

Every price on this site is a planning estimate, not a quote. Turf and labor prices vary by region, yard, and season. Get a firm price from a local installer before you buy.
